Short Term Forecast

Local Update...
   Isolated Heavy Snow Falling Across Portions Of Northern New York, and Northern Vermont...

     National Weather Service Doppler radar is indicating light to moderate snow with occasional heavy bursts across Northern New York, and Northwestern Vermont. Around the area, light snow is occuring in Swanton Vermont, with a quarter inch of accumulation, a spotter on I-89 near exit 16 indicated moderate snow with a quarter inch of accumulation so far, and Light Snow, with an inch of accumulation in Burlington.
     Radar is indicating a band of heavy snow should be moving through the Colchester, Burlington, Winooski areas in the next 10 minutes. In this band snow will fall very heavy, with visibilities briefly reduced to a quarter mile or less. Across Swanton, Alburgh, St. Albans, Fairfield, Georgia, Sheldon, Enosburgh, and Richford, Snowfall will be light to moderate with visibilities reduced to a half mile in the heaviest snow. For Rouses Point, Chazy, Malone, and Chateaugay Snow will be moderate with an occasional burst of heavy snow, visibilities will be down to a quarter mile in the heaviest snow. Roads will become snow covered, and slick. Use extreme caution, also temperatures will be falling rather rapidly. Temperatures in Plattsburgh are 30 degrees while in Massena, NY they have already dropped to 19 degrees. Updated maps will be coming shortly. Stay tuned!
